This position is responsible for providing instructional support, conducting demonstrations and assisting students as well as ensuring that supplies, equipment and instructional aids are maintained and prepared as needed.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
1. Conducts demonstrations and supervises laboratory activities.
2. Performs a wide variety of tasks related to the operation and minor maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies.
3. Supervise students on the safe use of laboratory matters, equipment and materials.
4. Provides assistance to instructors and assists in the preparation of assignments.
5. Orders and maintains appropriate equipment and supplies for the classroom and lab.
6. Ensures that tools and equipment are prepared and set up to meet instructional needs.
7. Organizes and coordinates classroom and workshop scheduling.
8. Advises and directs student aids.
9. Ensures that workshops and classrooms are clean and orderly.
10. Maintains medication carts.
11. Maintains the lab schedule.
12. Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Diploma from a 2-year Community College or institution in Practical Nursing and over 2 years’ related experience including current registration and practicing license with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of BC or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience may be substituted for the required qualifications.

Skills and Abilities
- Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty and the general public.
- Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage several time-sensitive tasks at any given time. Works effectively in a demanding environment with a demanding workload.
- Medical supply knowledge.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform minor maintenance and repairs of simulators.
Salary Range - Prorated based on FTE
PAYGRADE 24- $28.75 – $33.72 hourly
